Music Playlist

We all know music inspires, whether it’s the tune, the lyrics, the beat, or just the feeling it produces. Here are the songs that I listened to while writing my first novel. They helped me focus on certain emotions or events (joy, sadness, breaking up, love, anger, adrenaline, etc.) at critical junctures in my story, and in a lot of cases, also helped me get out of the dreaded “writer’s block.” Bleeding Love by Leona Lewis was one of the driving forces behind this novel – I think I must have listened to it at least a thousand times since its UK release (I managed to get a copy from my brother-in-law before it dropped in the US early last year, March 2008). These songs are listed in order by chapter as the story progresses. I’ll update this list with corresponding chapters in a future post.
