I’ve Been Tagged: The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I have been tagged by my friend and fellow writer Lucy D. Briand for this circulating blog hop. I did a quick search on “The Next Big Thing Blog Hop” and it was pretty cool to see what other writers across the globe had to say. In a nutshell, it’s a little snapshot of what I’m currently working on.

Be sure to check out Lucy’s work in progress as well.

What is the working title of your book?

I have several projects currently circulating with editors via my agent, but my work in progress is currently entitled UTOPIA.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

From the bowels of the madness of my brain.

What genre does your book fall under?

YA Contemporary Thriller.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Hmm. Good question. For the male lead, I can see Hunter Parrish or William Moseley. For the female lead, Saoirse Ronan or Mia Wasikowska.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

If I told you, I’d have to kill you.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

My agent shall take it out into the world.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

It’s still a work in progress, but on average, I complete a first draft in less than three months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

It’s incomparable. Ok, that’s just a shifty way of saying I don’t know.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I love to write. I also like to shake things up and be different – sometimes you have to think outside the box. My inspiration comes from other great writers and feedback from readers.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

It’s something different. It’s not paranormal or fantasy, but it’s edgy contemporary YA fiction. And of course there are hot boys and kickass heroines in it. Stay tuned!

Now for step two of the blog hop, it’s my turn to nominate 5 wonderful writers. I know several of them have projects and deadlines, so fingers crossed that at least a couple of them will participate to keep the Blog Hop going.
