Welcome to the awesomesauce book circus that is the YA Scavenger Hunt! For those new to the fun-fest that is YASH, this tri-annual event was first organized by the fabulous Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to bonus material from their favorite authors … and a chance to win some awesome prizes!

So for those of you who don’t know me, I’m the author of several books, including the #1 Amazon best-seller BLOODSPELL; The AQUARATHI Series from Harlequin Teen – WATERFELLOCEANBORN, and SEAMONSTER; as well as THE ALMOST GIRLTHE FALLEN PRINCE, and the Spring 2014 Kids’ Indie Next Pick ALPHA GODDESS from Sky Pony Press.

If you came here looking for my bonus material, a character inspiration post for THE FALLEN PRINCE, you’ll have to keep hunting!

At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the bonus material) will only be online until noon PST on Sunday October 9th!

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image16294099Check out the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SIX contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the RED TEAM–but there are also a bunch of other fabulous teams (BLUE, GOLD, GREEN, ORANGE & PURPLE teams–each with 20 authors)  for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, OR IF YOU ARE STUCK, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.

SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE

Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.

Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by OCTOBER 9TH, at noon Pacific Time. I’ve always wanted a superpower where I could bring fictional characters to life out of books! Because power team, anyone? I’d be bringing Katniss (The Hunger Games), Four (Divergent), Ren (Tiger’s Curse), Amon (Reawakened), Puck and Ash (Iron Fey) and so many more to life to fight baddies!

I think for my superpower I would choose to be able to teleport! That would be so cool to be able to go anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye! I want to travel so many places and this would get rid of the whole airport fiasco!

I would love to have the super power of invisibility, but I get to choose when I’m invisible and when I’m not.

Thank you so much for participating in YASH this year. I’ve been doing it for a couple years, and you are always so active. Thanks again!

The ability to fly. It doesn’t hurt if a pair of angel wings could be included.(; I’ve always been fascinated with the sky and with such a power I’d be able to reach new heights.

You are born into a world where you are granted the choice of one superpower, which you will have for the rest of your life.

What would it be and why?

If I had a superpower, I would want the ability to comfort people. There is so much heartache in the world and I wish I could have the ability to help people overcome their hardships and realize that one of the purposes for us to be in this world is to have joy. I want to help people believe in themselves and have this joy. My reason for this is because I’ve dealt with depression and bullying during my life and I’ve come to find happiness. I want others to experience this just like I have.

Superpowers! Always a fun subject! I would love the ability to create illusions or holograms that you can engage with (something like the holodeck from Star Trek). There are a ton of superpowers I could choose that could help masses, like healing or the ability to bring peace but I just think that we will never be able to completely solve all the worlds problems and powers like that inevitably land you in a life or death you-against-the-world situation and I would definitely not make a good YA heroine (I’m far too lazy and nowhere near patient enough!) so instead I’d like a power that could bring joy to people. This way people could visit places they could never afford to, or do things they never dreamed they could – or we could even bring our favourite novels to life!

I would love to have the ability to freeze and restart time! I do so much in my days, it would be nice to be able to give myself more time! My only problem would be my strange aging… But I can look past that for a few minutes of sleep!
