Welcome to the Fall 2013 YA Scavenger Hunt!
Welcome to the super-tastic YA Scavenger Hunt! For those new to the fun-fest that is YASH, this tri-annual event was first organized by the fabulous Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to bonus material from their favorite authors … and a chance to win some awesome prizes!
So for those of you who don’t know me, I’m the author of several books, including BLOODSPELL (2011), WATERFELL from Harlequin Teen (October 29, 2013), THE ALMOST GIRL from Strange Chemistry (January 7, 2014) and ALPHA GODDESS from Sky Pony Press (March 4, 2014). If you came here looking for my bonus material, a yummy teaser from WATERFELL (coming THIS MONTH from Harlequin TEEN), you’ll have to keep hunting!
At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours — until noon PST on Sunday October 6th!
Check out the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are THREE contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM–but there is also a red team AND for the first time ever–a gold team–for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!
If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.
SCAVENGER HUNT PUZZLE
Directions: In my post, you’ll notice that I’ve hidden my favorite number in BLUE somewhere. Collect the favorite numbers of all the authors on the blue team, and then add them up.
Entry Form: Once you’ve added up all the numbers, make sure you fill out the form here to officially qualify for the grand prize. Only entries that have the correct number will qualify.
Rules: Open internationally, anyone below the age of 18 should have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. To be eligible for the grand prize, you must submit the completed entry form by October 6th, at noon Pacific Time. Entries sent without the correct number or without contact information will not be considered.
ARE YOU GUYS READY?!?!
I am super-thrilled to be hosting the awesome SHELLEY CORIELL for this leg of the YA Scavenger Hunt!
About Shelley: Shelley Coriell is a former newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and restaurant reviewer. These days she writes smart, funny novels for teens and big, edgy romantic suspense. A six-time Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Finalist, she lives in Arizona with her family and the world’s neediest rescue weimaraner.
WHOA. Shelley has done a ton of really cool stuff AND she’s been a SIX time RWA Golden Heart finalist! I’m kind of in fangirl awe right now. Ok, I’ll try to pull myself together. Shelley’s featured book on this hunt is called GOODBYE, REBEL BLUE.
A girl dies, but her bucket list lives on.
Rebecca Blue is a rebel with an attitude whose life is changed by a chance encounter with a soon-to-be dead girl. Rebel (as she’s known) reluctantly completes the dead girl’s bucket list to prove that choice, not chance controls her future. In doing so, she unexpectedly opens her mind and heart to a world she once shunned, a world of friendships, family, and faith. With a shaken sense of self, she must reevaluate her loner philosophy–particularly when she falls for Nate, the golden boy do-gooder who never looks out for himself.
Find out more information about this exciting book by checking out Shelley’s website!
EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
And now for the moment you all have been waiting for … Shelley’s exclusive content … a sneak peek at Rebel Blue’s bucket list! I don’t know about you guys, but after reading that summary, I’m dying to know what she’ll have on there.
The first five items on Rebel Blue’s bucket list:
1. Jump in a taxi and scream, “Follow that car!”
2. Go for a job interview at The Pork Shop and answer all the questions in Pig Latin
3. Drink absinthe in a Paris rathskeller
4. Ride a shopping cart down the candy aisle at Target screaming, “The British are coming! The British are coming!”
5. Surf naked
LOL! Rebel Blue sounds like my kind of girl!! Makes you want to read more about her, doesn’t it? Well, if you’re interested, be sure to click on the links to Shelley’s website to learn more about how you can get your hands on your very own copy of GOODBYE, REBEL BLUE. Anyway, since we’re sharing stuff, I’ve surfed naked thirteen times and drank absinthe in a Parisian bar. Erm, one of those is a lie.
Don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, Shelley Coriell and more! To enter, you need to know that my favorite number is hidden somewhere in this post (hint: scroll up a bit – it’s in blue and it’s about nudity). Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the blue team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize! Also keep in mind that most of the authors are doing their own giveaways so there are many chances to win something unique and special.
While you’re here with me, be sure to enter the personal contest I’m hosting below for an SIGNED ARC of WATERFELL, SIGNED hardcover of newly-released ETERNAL by Kristi Cook AND a coveted hardcover of ALL OUR YESTERDAYS by Cristin Terrill!

October 6, 2013 at 3:26 am (11 years ago)I’m extremely good at remembering codes or phone numbers, even from ages ago. My mother is a bit wary that I may suddenly take a vested interest in online shopping whilst having her credit card number memorised! 😛
